Is your website being penalized by search engines because of one or more of these five items?
-
Keywords used too many times. Most search engines have a ratio of keyword density in the text
of a page. If you repeat a keyword too many times on one page, you may get penalized for spamming.
-
Linking to or getting links from known "link farm" websites. Search engines don't like link farms
- sites that trade or sell website links. In most cases, the content on these sites is not
related to the content on your site. The use of this type of site for generation links should be avoided.
-
Avoid "bad words" like the "George Carlin's 7 words you can't say on TV", plus many more.
Search engines tend to have a list of "bad words" that should be avoided. The use of these
words can cause your page ranking to suffer.
-
Text content as an image. When you put your text in an image, the search engines cannot
read it. If they cannot read it, then they cannot index the content.
-
Using images and blocks of text from other websites. This can also be a copyright issue
that can lead to bigger problems than bad page ranking.
It seems that to some extent, search engines are checking the ethical behavior of
websites as they index them.
If you think your website may have any of these issues, call Joe at
